Project

LPG Firewater tank foundation repairs and maintenance

Work carried out:

This project included the restoration, compression testing, tank lift, earthworks and new tank floor foundations for the LPG Firewater tank. This projects included all site preparation, clearing, demolition, earthworks, dewatering and compaction testing.

Activities

  • Restoration work for surfaces and items that were affected or damaged by the construction operation
  • Site establishment which shall include relevant site signage, temporary fencing and environmental protection as required, surveys and coordination of work with other contractors on site
  • All testing including, but not limited to, concrete compressive/slump tests, backfilling compaction tests and others as specified within this document, on the drawings or as required by the appropriate Australian Standards. All tests shall be conducted by appropriately qualified technicians and NATA registered laboratories
  • Tank lifting to contractors approved procedure
  • Earthworks to required excavation level, removing localised soft areas as required. All debris, excess spoil, asphalt, broken concrete etc. to be safely stored on site or disposed off-site according to site waste management plan
  • Supply and placement of selected granular fill for new tank foundation
  • Supply and placement of sand bitumen layer
